Transforming education through digital signage: My journey as a parent and CEO

I am Brian Loosbrock, CEO of Rise Vision, but more importantly, I am a parent deeply engaged in my children’s education. In today’s educational landscape, technology plays a pivotal role in shaping communication channels. As both a parent and CEO, I’ve witnessed firsthand the impact of Rise Vision in schools, and it’s a testament to the power of innovation in education.

As a leading digital signage solution for schools, Rise Vision isn’t just a software platform; it’s a catalyst for change. Our mission is simple: to help schools improve communication, enhance safety, and foster a positive culture. By providing amazing content, easy-to-use software, and excellent service, Rise Vision aims to empower schools to embrace the possibilities of technology and elevate the educational experience for teachers, students, and parents.

As a parent first and CEO second, witnessing our platform in action reaffirms the importance of effective communication, safety measures, and cultivating a positive school culture. It’s a moment of pride knowing that our work contributes to enhancing the educational experience for students and fostering a sense of community within the school walls.

The power of communication

Effective communication is essential in schools. Digital signage platforms like Rise Vision help to bridge the gap, connecting students, teachers, and parents seamlessly. With effective deployment of digital signage at schools, announcements, event notifications, and updates flow effortlessly, fostering a sense of community.

Transforming Campus Communication at Weslaco ISD

Let’s explore how Rise Vision has revolutionized communication at Weslaco Independent School District (Weslaco ISD) in Texas.

Rise Vision’s integration at Weslaco ISD has been nothing short of transformative, enhancing communication across their campuses. Prior to adopting our platform, the district faced challenges with their outdated digital signage systems, leading to inefficiencies in content updates and dissemination. Recognizing the need for a comprehensive solution, Homer Colunga, the Instructional Coach at Weslaco ISD, spearheaded the search for a more efficient alternative. Rise Vision stood out for its versatility and user-friendly interface, ultimately leading to its implementation.

In the wake of the project, Weslaco ISD has witnessed a remarkable improvement in communication efficiency. With displays in various areas such as hallways, common areas, offices, and classrooms, Rise Vision has become an integral part of daily operations.

Iris Cardona, the Library Media Assistant, has emerged as a content creation expert, utilizing platforms like Canva and Google Slides to enhance the digital signage platform’s capabilities.

The district’s proactive approach extends beyond traditional digital signage too. Homer envisions Rise Vision’s integration into classrooms for a more interactive learning experience. Weslaco ISD’s success story shows how digital signage is an effective means to mitigate communication challenges within schools.

Enhancing safety measures

Ensuring student safety is paramount. Rise Vision’s digital signage facilitates swift communication during emergencies and reinforces safety protocols.

Necedah Schools reduced time to lockdown by 50%

One example that we’re super proud of and happy to see is how Necedah Schools in Wisconsin have been able to reduce the time to lockdown their entire school to less than 20 seconds! That’s a reduction of more than 50%.

Faced with the challenge of updating its communication infrastructure to provide both routine information and urgent alerts effectively, Necedah Schools turned to digital signage as a solution. This example details how the integration of Rise Vision with Singlewire’s InformaCast software played a pivotal role in transforming the school’s communication and safety protocols.

Prior to implementing Rise Vision and Informacast, Necedah Schools relied on traditional PA systems for emergency communications. Recognizing the need for a swifter response, especially given that industry standards indicate a critical 30-second window from identifying an active shooter to potential incident escalation, Necedah Schools sought a more immediate solution. Previously, activating an emergency protocol was cumbersome and slow, taking up to 60 seconds to fully lock down the campus. With Rise Vision and Informacast, this process has been reduced to about 20 seconds, effectively decreasing lockdown times by over 50%.

Improving school safety at Saline School District

Saline Area Schools’ success story demonstrates how technology can bolster safety measures, creating secure learning environments.

At Saline School District in Michigan, Rise Vision plays a crucial role in enhancing school culture by improving safety protocols and accessibility for all students. Integrated with the school’s emergency system, Rise Vision ensures efficient communication during emergencies, with IT Director Jay Grossman highlighting its ability to deliver critical messages across all displays simultaneously. Rise Vision’s seamless integration with their emergency alert provider, InformaCast Singlewire, guarantees prompt dissemination of vital information, contributing to a safer school environment.

Additionally, Rise Vision enhances accessibility for students with special needs, as noted by Lisa York, special education consultant at Saline Middle School; this ensures that every student can stay informed and engaged in school activities. “Students that might not be able to hear an alert or need a little bit extra help, Rise Vision allows them to be a part of the school and understand what’s going on,” York said.

Fostering a Positive School Culture

Beyond communication and safety, Rise Vision contributes to cultivating a positive school culture. By showcasing achievements, promoting activities, and celebrating diversity, our platform fosters pride and belonging.

Connecting beyond the classroom at Davis Schools

An impactful case study from Davis Schools illustrates how Rise Vision facilitates connection, even amidst adversity, highlighting the profound impact technology can have on a school’s culture.

Rise Vision’s integration at Davis Public Schools shows how it improved school culture, especially in keeping a student connected during health challenges. Ava, a student facing lymphoblastic lymphoma, stayed involved in school through Rise Vision’s digital signage, led by Bobby Alexander, District Technology Director.

Rise Vision offered an easy solution, allowing Ava to manage displays remotely from her room. Using Rise Vision and tools like Canva, Ava shared engaging content like event schedules and birthday shoutouts, boosting student involvement and pride.

Ava’s story highlights how digital signage technology can bridge gaps and strengthen school communities while creating a positive, inclusive environment, even in tough times. Davis Public Schools’ experience proves the power of digital signage to boost student engagement and school spirit.

Digital signage isn’t just about technology — it’s about transformation

Digital signage isn’t just about technology—it’s about transformation. As both a parent and CEO, I have witnessed my company’s role in shaping educational experiences. Through improved communication, enhanced safety measures, and the promotion of a positive school culture, digital signage systems like Rise Vision are able to transcend mere software and hardware to become a beacon of progress and inclusivity. Let us continue embracing technology’s potential to enrich lives and empower future generations.
